CB012 - An absolutely beautiful piece of top Gem red-orange multicolor Lightning Ridge Crystal Opal. This stunning carved Opal Bead is much prettier than what is shown in the photos ! Clean brilliant colors of red,sky blues,gold, red orange,gold, mauves & pretty greens play & glow at every angle.

CB011 - A beautiful piece of opalised Gem Seashell. Carved undulating surfaces reflect brilliant colors of delicate greens, oranges & gentle mauves. Keeping with the "sea" theme, I have cut-polished & set a tiny emerald green Black Opal "pearl" for added interest! The back is left natural to show it's ocean heritage.

BK013 - A beautiful Lightning Ridge Black Gem Opal Bead, full of rich deep emerald greens with tints of gold & blue. (The camera shows more blue than that seen with the naked eye.) The piece of black opal itself weighs 2 carats with a body thickness of 1.7mm - which prompted me to create a fuller bodied bead by bonding this gem black opal to a natural black opal basestone from the same opal mine, thereby having perfectly matching base tones and body. A stunner!

BB013 - A very distinctive & rare pattern for this beautiful Boulder Opal Pendant Bead. Clearly defined is the outline of a small dog/puppy (!). Bright sparkles of opal Gem color surround the "head" & the front "paw". This bead is finished with a lovely cut & very high shine.

A beautiful CooberPedy Gem Crystal Opal Pendant created using a lovely piece of top Gem Opal Crystal. This Gem is tanslucent and truly 3D, being able to see through the layers of color to the bottom of the Gemstone.

This stunning Opal Pendant has been created using a beautiful piece of Cooberpedy Red Crystal Gem opal and although the primary color is a striking red with crimson, smaller electric flashes of blue and green can be seen here also.

An intarsia influence is evident here with the perfectly fitting sweeping band of jet black leadlight glass (MOHS Hardness 6.5 to 6) giving the effect of a "black tie or sash against a red gown".

The boulder opal ironstone is colored in lovely reddish and dark browns with the top of the pendant having a natural Gem opal matrix showing in amongst the ironstone. The inlayed opal is very bright Lightning Ridge Gem Crystal,exhibiting beautiful crystal greens and green-blues.

A magnificent piece of Cooberpedy red/multicolor Gem Crystal Opal takes prime position here, featuring cascades of brilliant red fire suffused with brilliant electric blues, greens, golds and crimson - stunning !

Surrounding this center-piece is Gem Opal from the varied Australian Opal mining fields of Lightning Ridge, Coober-Pedy, Andamooka and Mintabie - all joined together in a glorious harmony of vibrant color, light and fire.

At the very top of this beautiful opal pendant is a section of emerald green to green-blue fire which displays a lovely and quite unique rolling ribbon harlequin pattern.
This piece was quite involved in it's making and construction and all the fitting and joining was done by "hand & eye" alone - no angle cutting machinery was used here !

Stunning and vibrant are my first thoughts that come to mind with this brilliant and full of fire Cooberpedy Crystal Opal Pendant.

This beautiful piece was created using brilliant Cooberpedy red Crystal opal, striking in its appearance, flawless in it's makeup.

This kind of top gem rough is a joy and quite inspiring to work with !

The colors are brilliant reds, stunning crimsons, indigo, beautiful royal blues, sky blues and lovely aqua greens. The flow and play of color is vivid and vibant and totally harmonise within all it's aspects.

I will mention that the photographs tend to overemphasise more royal blue in the photos but to the naked eye, the true colors are predominantly reds and crimsons which feature more in this stunning pendant !

The pendant body for this Gem is a single piece of Gem Black Onyx and please note my signature inlay of opal inthe back of the pendant, adding that special finishing touch overall !

A Rare Genuine Flag Harlequin Opal Pendant ! Video !

A stunning and magnificent genuine Flag Harlequin Gem Opal pendant!

It has been many years since I have gazed upon such a rare and near perfect harlequin pattern found in a natural Gem Opal.

Although beautiful examples of this rare and exraordinary pattern do occasionally occur in fine grade crystal opal from Cooberpedy, and even gem boulder opal, outstanding harlequin patterns were known as a signature of the finest opal found at Lightning Ridge.

To find this brillliant gem amongst some early Lightning Ridge rough which I've been hoarding for years, was a little exciting to say the least!
The patterns and colors of this stunning pendant shine and glow brilliantly at every angle, a lovely and valuable feature of this gem.

Though a little diffficult to capture the colors fully on camera, I will say there are a lot more beautiful oranges displaying themselves than what the photo or video has shown.

This absolutely gorgeous opal pendant would greatly compliment your "evening wear" attire, as even under low light conditions this stunning opal pulls in surrounding light and allows the brilliant colors and moving patterns to - simply put - GLOW !

Colors on display in this opal gem are orange to orange green, green gold, emerald green and a deep blue.

The opal itself is 1.2 mm or approx. 1/16" inch thick and bonded to solid black gem onyx (with my special compound recipe).

The substantial and solid 14 ct.yellow gold bail is of my own design and compliments this stunning one of a kind opal gem pendant perfectly.

I have added a little inlay work to the back of the pendant as a"signature"
to this very special piece.

All our Calibrated Opal Doublets are made with both the manufacturing jeweller and the opal "enthusiast" in mind; calibrated beautifully to place directly into those precious and semi-precious calibrated metal findings, for a beautifully finished jewelry piece.

Our Opal Doublets are made with the utmost care to attention and detail in each and every one of the steps of the manufacturing process.

Each individual item of opal used is hand-selected for it's stability, absence of any cracks and flaws, guaranteeing the opal doublet's longevity and integrity of it's gem nature and make.

With over 38 years of opal cutting and expertise, my cut and polish of our products is benchmarked to the highest quality and standard, to ensure full and complete customer satisfaction at ALL times.

The backing material we use in our range of doublets is premium quality jet black leadlight glass - it's MOHS hardness is virtually identical to that of opal, therefore very compatible.

An added benefit of using this product for backing material are the mirror polished jet black sides (matching the mirror finish of the opal face), great for that special setting allowing for a portion, or all of the sides of the doublet, to be seen.

The bonding of the opal to glass is achieved by a special blending of five different industrial strength compounds, giving rise to an incredibly strong, durable and cohesive bonding compound, second to none.

A point of note is that the enhancement of opal colour and brightness (through our doublet making process) will be maintained for the full and total life of the doublet.

A beautiful and stunning Opal Pendant, full of flashing fire, colour & movement.

From a single and unusually shaped piece of beautiful Gem Crystal Opal sparkling with oranges, golds, greens & blues, an opal piece that reminded me very much of beautiful architectural stained glass windows, brought forward an idea on how best to utilise such an unusual shaped Gem.

And so the creation of this beautiful long teardrop pendant started to form in my mind.
Taking great care, I formed three sections out of the Gem, with the opal at the peak of the pendant revealing itself in the last "cut" to be like the fiery sparks that emit upwards from the top of a bonfire.

Contoured bands of jet black leadlight glass intersperse between the three sections of Gem Opal, giving the effect of framing and highlighting each individual section of Crystal fire.

The complete pendant body of jet black leadlight glass and opal combined, has been cut and polished to mirror perfection, finishing this into a highly unique and stunning Opal Pendant.

Now this IS an Opal On Black pendant with a difference!

I recently acquired a lovely piece of 100% Natural Solid Translucent Gem Opal and simply couldn't resist using it in a different way than normal. This piece has a play of beautiful reds with some blues and greens with good effect.

So, what I decided upon, was inserting a decorative surround of striking created black opal to compliment the beautiful colours of the solid translucent Gem Opal.

The combined solid natural opal and created opal surround has been cut and polished into a single piece with the overall effect in appearance being very 3D-like and visually quite stunning.

The back of this opal pendant is of jet black leadlight glass.

We have just handcrafted this lovely Harlequin Gem Opal 14ct. Gold Pendant.

A very special Pendant !

Having taken a stunning piece of 100% Natural Lightning Ridge Harlequin patterned Gem Crystal Opal, and keeping very close to the original uncut opal shape of a flame, I have carefully carved the edges of the uncut opal into the finished flame shape that you see here.

I have then very carefully carved out the exact same shape into the body of the jet black leadlight glass and again with the same meticulous care, inlay this beautiful gem into it.

The opal itself is then locked into the glass body from behind. Completing the process, the piece is then set into a very attractive Pendant body of Hallmarked Australian Solid 14ct. yellow gold.

The electric colours of this beautiful harlequin patterned Gem play like fire over the face of the Opal, rippling as they move with reds, oranges, golds, greens & blues.

Created with 100% natural Gem Opal, this lovely Pendant of Lightning Ridge Gem Crystal glows with "electric" oranges, greens and blues in a beautiful vibrant play of colour.

(There are some lovely electric blues in play in this opal which the photographs haven't caught.)

The back of this Pendant is of jet black leadlight glass.
There is a slight opaqueness on the higher right edge of the opal, (which is reflected in the start bid price), but this does not in any way take away from the overall beauty of this item.

This petite and fiery Gem "Opal On Black" Pendant was created using 100% Natural Coober-Pedy Gem Crystal Opal.

Very fiery is how we would describe this lovely pendant. Brilliant reds and greens flash out all over with a few flashes of blue trying to squeeze in there as well !

Beautifully finished piece with the back of the Pendant having been lined with solid 9ct.yellow gold.

This beautiful "Opal On Black" Pendant was created using an absolutely lovely piece of Coober-Pedy fossillised opal sea shell, with colours running like silken waves of fire all over the face of this fiery Gem.

Beautiful colours of a coral reef are found in abundance here.

Absolutely striking !
